This iconic Great Gatsby quote was doing the rounds on Twitter last week when journalist Kirby Sommers made the link to Jeffrey Epstein and Ghislaine Maxwell. Epstein is very much a Gatsby-esque figure, living a life of show and excess that was born on lies and rat-cunning. He spent other people’s money and trampled on the young and the innocent. Ghislaine has Daisy’s careless attitude but the suspected Mossad agent instead broke people while living a life built on a bed of lies. I’m not saying the two Gatsby characters are demonic like Ghislaine and Epstein but their attitudes were similar.
